World Sports Betting Cape Cobras coach Ashwell Prince was forced into a late change to his squad for the clash against the Momentum Multiply Titans starting in Benoni on Monday, after all-rounder George Linde was called up as an injury replacement for Keshav Maharaj in the Proteas Test squad.

Linde will join up with the Proteas squad ahead of the Third Test against India which results in SWD spinner Tsepo Ndwandwa given the opportunity in the 4 Day team after featuring for the Cobras in white ball cricket last season.

“We’re very proud of George’s call-up to the Proteas Test squad, it now means both our frontline spinners are with the Proteas which means we have to adapt. But, it opens up opportunities for other guys and any player who comes into this Cobras side, knows what is expected of them,” said Prince.

The World Sports Betting Cape Cobras will be looking to bounce back from the opening round loss to the Imperial Lions, where Linde was the top wicket-taker with a match haul of 11 wickets and Prince is confident of a better performance.

“The guys fought in Potch and they played with courage, despite having to negotiate some really tough conditions. Now we go to Benoni where we will be hoping for a better result against a very good team. We know all about the Titans, we’ve had some good battles in the past and I’m sure this one will be no different.
