Starring in the main role or making cameo experiences on the TV program Cobras World on SuperSport, complemented by up-close-and-personal interviews with the new generation of emerging stars in the maiden Cobras World Digital Magazine, will offer fans unique opportunities to become closely acquainted with the World Sport Betting Cape Cobras.
Cobras World was a star-attraction during the premiere of the show on SuperSport on Tuesday 17th October with several players and coaches enjoying some light-hearted moments around the Cadac Braai fires at PPC Newlands on Heritage Day as the players mingled. Whilst in a segment of getting to the know the players and management a bit better, Dane Piedt and Dane Paterson emerged as the popular choice when asked which team-mate they’d want with them if they were stranded on a deserted island.
“The Cobras World program on SuperSport is a welcome addition to Western Cape cricket and is set to reveal the lighter side of the professional squad,” said David Brooke, Brand Activations and Sponsorship Manager of the WSB Cape Cobras.
“There will be much banter during the show which will feature regularly from October to April – from which emoji best represents each player, to which colleague spends the most time getting ready in the morning.
“There will also be a more serious side as the plans are unveiled on how the team plans to continue implementing the Spirited Cricket campaign, Brooked added.”
Cobras World Digital Magazine meanwhile was launched this week, with the first edition giving supporters a chance to gain insights into the interests and personal life of their favourite players as well as introducing some of the new faces in the Cobras setup and the first in a regular interview with a Cape Cobras legend; Charl Langeveldt features in the first edition.
“The Cobras Digital Magazine will be supplemented by our bouquet of social media services including Instagram, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.
“All of these are aimed at giving the die-hard fans access to the team,” Brooke said.
“Content is king. Mundane content won’t cut it. You have to keep your audience captivated with gripping and inspirational TV, digital and social media offerings,” Brooke remarked.
“I would like to thank our main sponsor, World Sports Betting, who is backing our vision to propel the Cape Cobras brand to a new level. We are anticipating a very exciting and thrilling time for our fans and the players in Cape Town.”
Piedt said the new platforms allow the WSB Cape Cobras fans to see and enjoy a different side to the players which is not usually possible during a live match.
“As a squad we are enjoying producing this kind of content for our fans and we hope everyone is entertained thoroughly by it.”
“The Cobras Digital Magazine and Cobras World will add such entertainment value that will hopefully lure a new generation of fans to the game and the Cobras team,” said Nabeal Dien, Chief Executive Officer of the WSB Cape Cobras.
“I believe the fun will be contagious. The TV show and digital magazine will also extend our WSB Cape Cobras brand footprint.”
