The World Sports Betting Cape Cobras have added cashless payments & event technology platform Howler to the family of new partners who have come onboard this season.

Cashless payments have become the global standard and is growing rapidly in South Africa and especially at events attended in high numbers. The system allows event goers to transact during an event using Howler RFID cards/wristbands and is not affected by the possible mobile network congestion. It’s also considered an essential means to safeguard organisers, vendors and event goers’ cash during an event.

David Brooke, brand and sponsorship manager of the World Sports Betting Cape Cobras and Western Province Cricket Association explains how the partnership will be implemented.

“It’s an absolute pleasure to welcome Howler to the World Sports Betting Cape Cobras family and we know that the value that they will bring into providing solutions to crucial parts of our infrastructure at PPC Newlands, will have a positive impact.

“As part of the partnership, PPC Newlands will pilot the cashless process in our public bars for the next 12 months, starting in November, making it the first stadium in the country to go cashless. The Howler logo will also be displayed on the kit of the Cobras players during all matches in the Momentum One Day Cup and CSA T20 Challenge this season.”

“We are excited to be part of the World Sports Betting Cape Cobras family and to make a notable difference in the spectator experience at all matches at PPC Newlands this season. We realise the last thing anyone wants to do is wait in a long queue and miss a large chunk of the game, so we’re here to streamline that process,” says Shai Evian, CEO of Howler.

“It is really great to see another partner on board as we transition from the traditional offerings in cricket and adapt to the new fans, and new experiences. Welcome on board Howler, may the relationship be a long and healthy one,” concluded Western Cape Cricket CEO Nabeal Dien.
